LiveScore Group acquires Wonderlabz

Operator LiveScore Group has announced the strategic acquisition of Wonderlabz, a South Africa-based software development company.

LiveScore Group has increased its holding in Wonderlabz from 25% to full ownership.

Wonderlabz developments focus on the Lithium PAM and back-office platform. The company has developed app and digital platforms for LiveScore Group's brands, including LiveScore and LiveScore Bet.

LiveScore Group, consisting of three brands, LiveScore, LiveScore Bet and Virgin Bet – all hold the objective of combining sports media and sports betting.

This acquisition is the latest milestone in LiveScore Group's journey, which began with a £50m ($61.2m) investment from Swiss-based media and tech firm Ringier AG.

By acquiring Wonderlabz in its entirety, LiveScore Group aims to enhance its in-house capabilities and establish a new tech hub in the South African market.

In October 2023, LiveScore Group entered into a long-term partnership with sports betting supplier Kambi Group. This partnership aimed to utilise Kambi's sportsbook services to supply the LiveScore Bet and Virgin Bet online sportsbook brands worldwide.

Moreover, LiveScore celebrated its 25th anniversary with a year-long user campaign, offering promotions and incentives for its users. The company has made strategic partnerships with Pragmatic Play, expanding its customer base in the Dutch market and even collaborated with former World Cup star Emmanuel Petit.
